Atta Regatta – Event of the year for the African travel industry

Atta is flying to London Damian Cook, the founder and CEO of e-Tourism Frontiers, who is presenting the social media forum.

Atta
(African Travel & Tourism Association) will be hosting its summer event in London on Wednesday 17th July that over the years has become the highlight for the African travel industry. It is usually attended by 150 of the top tour operators, tourist boards, airlines and journalists. This year Atta is also holding a social media seminar in the afternoon before the evening event. The events are sponsored by The Zambian Tourist Board and South African Airways.

Atta is a trade association that promotes tourism to Africa from all corners of the world. Recognised as the Voice of African Tourism, Atta serves and supports business leaders in Africa representing the elite buyers and suppliers of tourism product across 22 African countries.

With over 530 members, Atta acts as Pan-Africa’s largest network of tourism product covering not only accommodation, transport and travel specialists in Africa, but a formidable selection of tour operators, representation and PR companies in Europe, USA and worldwide promoting tourism to Africa. The Atta platform offers extensive opportunities for networking, marketing, education, and the dissemination of information to our members and the media. Atta represents African tourism interests at the highest levels, in a continuing dialogue with many tourism ministries, tourist authorities and associations across the African continent.

Atta is flying to London Damian Cook, the founder and CEO of e-Tourism Frontiers, who is presenting the social media forum. Damian normally packs out conference venues around the world when he speaks on social media trends and we are thrilled to have him at our event with his selected guest speakers including Justine Head, former digital director of Visit Britain and Helen Egan Head of Destination Marketing at TripAdvisor. Social media is now driving our industry and Damian will bring you up to date with everything that touches tourism in this fast moving medium.

The Summer Networking Party (Drinks and BBQ) follows in the evening.

This event in its 15th year is the highlight of the African tourism calendar, attended by the movers and shakers of the industry and will be held on the terrace of the Riverside Studios overlooking the river after the seminar. A really fun evening of “Networking is not really working”!
