Berlin targets North American associations

The management of Berlin Convention Office (BCO) has recognized the importance of the North American association market and is making a commitment to court more congresses to their exciting destination. The Berlin Convention Office, which is a part of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM), is the official convention bureau and the official representative of the city for the meetings industry. In recent years, the German capital city has gained global prominence as a top destination for meetings and conventions. And now, in a bid to garner a larger share of the North American Association market, BCO is implementing a very thorough approach of the North American market and has selected Marketing Challenges International (MCIntl) to head its marketing efforts in North America and to help it achieve its goals.

As such, MCIntl is now the North American marketing and sales office for the Berlin Convention Office (BCO). Michel Couturier, MCIntl President and Founder, noted, “We are truly honored and excited to have been selected. Berlin truly adds another dimension and more diversity to our network of international destinations.”

Berlin is a world class, dynamic city with much to offer associations and their delegates. The city is not only the capital of Germany, but also a major center of industry, science, politics and culture for Europe.  Home to nearly 300 universities and research institutes and to the European headquarters of countless multinational firms, Berlin is bustling with commerce and innovation. Moreover, the city’s thriving arts scene has contributed to its global recognition as being a cutting edge destination. All in all, Berlin is an attractive destination for Congresses of all sizes, related to all fields.

Moreover, the numbers do not lie!  In the recently released annual rankings of the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA), Berlin is ranked number 5, having hosted 100 international association events in 2008. The Berlin Convention Office (BCO) has played a major role in this ranking and continues to be committed to assisting meeting planners with their programs to the destination. And now, MCIntl will enhance their efforts and presence here in North America.
