CHTA designates American Resort Development Association as strategic partner

Two major hospitality industry associations have forged a strategic alliance to work together in the Caribbean to the benefit of both organizations.  The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has signed an agreement in which the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) will be designated as a Strategic Partner of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. ARDA represents the worldwide vacation ownership industry and has many of its members based in the Caribbean region.

CHTA Strategic Partners are leading organizations and companies involved in a wide range of industry sectors and activities in the Caribbean. Although these areas of activities are diverse, all Strategic Partners are committed to their work in the Caribbean hotel, resort and tourism industry.

Benefits of the Strategic Partnership include prominent participation in CHTA conferences and events which provides a unique environment in which to forge a broad network of national and international contacts. Partners gain an opportunity to share their expertise, work closely with hotel clients, acquire valuable insight into the latest industry developments and work with the CHTA and its members in providing solutions to the industry’s challenges and priorities.

“We are very pleased to have ARDA join with CHTA as a Strategic Partner,” said Alec Sanguinetti, Director General and CEO of CHTA, adding: “The organization opens up a whole new world of opportunities for expansion of our membership benefits at a time when vacation ownership developments with timeshare and mixed use resorts are growing across the Caribbean.”

“The Caribbean is an essential player in tourism and the vacation ownership industry,” said Howard Nusbaum, president and CEO of the American Resort Development Association. “I am excited about our partnership with CHTA as we work to continue to grow the Caribbean resort industry with its awesome tourism assets.”

ARDA joins Caribbean Travel & Life, FirstCaribbean International Bank, Eventstar, Fosters Group, Interval International, Tropical Shipping and Utell Hotels & Resorts as Strategic Partners of CHTA.

ARDA and CHTA will work together on benefits that can be mutually helpful to each others memberships.  ARDA is hosted the Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives (CSHAE) at its annual conference in Orlando on March 31.  CSHAE is holding its annual meeting in conjunction with ARDA and also enjoying the benefits of attending this event which draws more than 3,000 delegates from around the world.

CHTA also will provide ARDA with regular e-mail communications to all CHTA members, coverage of the company in the CHTA Weekly News, free advertising in designated CHTA publications, a direct link on the CHTA website to the ARDA website, corporate recognition on all CHTA literature, flyers, websites, promotion brochures and trade shows and access to Board of Directors social events. The agreement is for one year.
