FTA announces new membership categories to better serve the needs of current and prospective members

Burgeoning faith-based market is important to travel agents.

LEXINGTON, KY – The Faith Travel Association is taking steps to help independent travel agents break into the faith-based travel market with a new membership level designed to meet their specific needs.

“Our independent travel agent members told us they are excited about being a part of the growing faith-based travel market, but they wanted more of the marketing benefits our other members were getting,” explained Julie Hoover-Ernst, FTA marketing & communications director. “Thanks to their input, we have developed a new category specifically for independent travel agents called Travel Advisor.”

Under this category, independent travel agents will continue to have the networking opportunities, terrific member discounts, educational programs and e-newsletter they enjoy, but now they can create a searchable online profile to give them the added benefit of exposure on FTA’s website.

As the premier association connecting faith-based travel professionals, destinations and organizations worldwide, the FTA also helps independent travel advisors grow their business by showing them how to tap into this burgeoning market sector, cultivate relationships with faith-based groups, and work with faith-based travel pros to develop trips that are truly inspiring. Dues for the new Travel Advisor category are $150.

Another new category is the Associate membership level for those organizations that provide products and services that are complementary to the travel industry, such as insurance, marketing, promotional products and printing. Dues for this membership level are $500.

FTA also has divided the Sellers category into two new categories, Destinations and Suppliers, so that it can better address their unique needs, and it has created a Media/Editorial category to give reporters better insight into the faith-based travel market, and give its members exposure to reporters interested in covering this industry segment.
