Harbour Hotels Group joins Meetings Industry Association

Within Harbour Hotels’ portfolio are country, coastal and city properties in the south of England, all with stylish and chic decor and award-winning restaurants.

Five hotels from the luxury Harbour Hotels Group have become members of the Meetings Industry Association (mia) – one of the fastest growing associations in the conference, meetings and events sector.

Members of the mia benefit from extensive industry networking opportunities, preferential rates for training and professional development events, access to data and industry insight from powerful benchmarking tools and greater commercial insight.

The Harbour Hotels in Guildford, Bristol, Brighton and Chichester have all achieved the mia’s highly acclaimed AIM accreditation as part of their membership. The new Southampton Harbour Hotel will be seeking accreditation on opening in October 2017. AIM is the nationally recognised standard for venues and service providers in the meetings, conferences and events industry, with 50 strict criteria which must be met to achieve accreditation.

Within Harbour Hotels’ portfolio are country, coastal and city properties in the south of England, all with stylish and chic decor and award-winning restaurants.

Mike Warren, Managing Director of Harbour Hotels, said: “We are delighted to have secured national AIM accreditation for our city properties; as the UK’s nationally recognised standard for venues and service providers in the meetings, conferences and events industry, our hotels have successfully met the strict accreditation criteria – ensuring the highest standards of service and facilities.

“Joining the mia will bring many benefits to our leading hospitality group, including useful networking opportunities and a valuable benchmarking tool. Becoming part of this highly regarded association increases our awareness within the industry and allows us to further build our Harbour Hotels brand.”

Jane Longhurst, mia chief executive, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Harbour Hotels as the latest leading hotel group to become mia members. Securing AIM accreditation acts as a guarantee to buyers that when they choose one of the accredited Harbour Hotels they’re choosing a venue that cares about best practice and actively strives to meet and exceed their expectations. With so many dedicated conference centres and hotels, sporting and academic venues to choose from nationwide, it offers buyers a smart method to quality control their selections that could ultimately save them time, anxiety and reputational risk later down the line.”
