The Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA<.>) and its Turkish counterpart TURSAB have revitalised efforts at cooperation four years after signing an agreement.

During a recent meeting in Athens between the chairmen of the two bodies – HATTA's Yiannis Evangelou and TURSAB's Basaran Ulusoy, it was decided that they should renew the agreement, which states the following:

A joint committee will be formed with the aim of finding solutions to problems faced by members in both countries.

Greece and Turkey is seen as popular long-haul destinations by travellers in countries such as the US and Japan, and therefore should be promoted as a single destination.

HATTA and TURSAB should work towards the creation of a federation of travel agencies in the eastern Mediterranean.
