MIA brings in membership to UK Venue Show

Members of the Meetings Industry Association will be showcasing their venues in the MIA Pavilion and will be appealing to the £2bn buying power of qualified buyers of events and ancillary services.

The MIA represents the interests of over 400 venues and is backed by AIM, the meetings industry’s only accreditation scheme. The MIA Pavilion will compliment a growing raft of exhibitors keen to benefit from the kick off show of 2012’s globally important event season.

Other exhibitors set to benefit from the UK Venue Show include The Business Design Centre, One Great George Street, The Concept Centre as well as endorsement from the Association of Event Venues (AEV).

Jane Longhurst, chief executive, MIA said; “The UK Venue Show promises to be an effective platform for venues to engage with potential new clients and as the only national standard for meeting venues in the UK, it is important that AIM is represented and for the MIA to support the show.  The AIM Accredited Venue Village will be a major feature, housing a collection of AIM venues alongside the MIA team. It’s a format that has proven to be a powerful means to generate quality business leads for AIM venues, and we anticipate similar successes at this show.”

Confirmed exhibitor, Graham Stephenson from Business Design Centre commented: “With the UK Venue Show taking place at the beginning of the year, it is a perfect time as event decision makers will be planning how to assign their event budgets. The tight focus of the show means that we are set to meet key decision makers from agencies and corporates thereby making this a very valuable investment in The Business Design Centre’s marketing plans. By running alongside the Event Production Show, the high profile visitor base is set to make our investment one that will show a quick ROI.”

Tanya Cohen, Event Director, UK Venue Show said: “The show is clearly making its mark as more exhibitors and associations confirm their presence. It is becoming very clear that corporates want to get their 2012 plans sorted early – being the first in the season we are perfectly placed to get business done in what is set to be one of the busiest years for events in the UK.”
