Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has tapped Dr. Jim Loehr, Ed.D., renowned performance psychologist, as keynote for its 2003 Professional Education Conference-North America’s (PEC-NA) Opening

Session
on leadership strategies to launch a

conference-wide focus on personal success and lifetime career value for meeting professionals.

Loehr’s interactive presentation, the conference’s inaugural event at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, will encourage attendees to take personal risks to achieve greatness and inspire the same in

others
. Recognized worldwide for groundbreaking contributions to the field of performance psychology, Loehr has authored 12 books, including recent bestseller, Stress for Success (Times Books). His work with an array

of Fortune 500 companies and world-class athletes applies perfectly to meeting professionals.

Dr. Loehr’s keynote message of leadership and personal empowerment for professional success exemplifies the mission of PEC-NA, said Edwin L. Griffin Jr., CAE, president and CEO of MPI. PEC-NA has always

been the place for deeper education and relationship building and now we have customized its offerings to focus more on member needs and help them, regardless of experience level, become more professionally enriched and a

greater strategic asset for employers and clients.

PEC-NA’s It’s all about YOU approach is powered by 50 knowledge sessions, intimate learning environments and small student-to-teacher ratios. New to the PEC-NA are Personal Power Keynotes, 90-minute

workshops on topics such as inspiration, leadership, embracing change and overcoming obstacles. Also planned are five networking events, as well as PEC Expo, where exhibitors can do business with highly qualified buyers who

are members of MPI’s $10.9 billion annual buying power network.

Nearly 600 attendees are already pre-registered for PEC-NA, slated for February 2 – 4, 2003 at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center and the Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida. The Opening General Session keynote presentation is sponsored by The Corporate Athlete and Disney Institute.
