The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) announces the election of Suzanne Fletcher as President and CEO of the association. Fletcher, Director of Travel, Meetings, Food Service, Fleet and Transportation of Weyerhaeuser, was elected into office at NBTA`s 37th Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Diego. Charles J. Franklin II, CCTE, Manager of Corporate Services for American Honda Motor Co., Inc, was elected to the position of Vice President. Paul D. Lang, CCTE, Manager of Corporate Services for Bayer Corporate and Business Services, was elected as a Director at Large.

Fletcher commented, I`m very excited to continue the work of establishing NBTA as the voice of the managed travel industry across the globe. During my tenure, I plan on continuing and strengthening NBTA`s efforts on Capitol Hill, expanding our international presence and enhancing the education programs offered to our members. I`m looking forward to the challenges and accomplishments the next two years hold for NBTA.

Fletcher brings more than 27 years of experience in the hospitality and travel industry, and has held various responsibilities throughout her career including corporate meeting planning, consolidating meeting and travel departments and developing corporate travel programs. Her involvement in NBTA as a Direct Member spans 15 years, in which she has served the association and its members in a number of capacities. These positions include NBTA Board Member and Chair of the NBTA Aviation Committee. Fletcher has also been actively involved in NBTA`s chapters, holding leadership roles in the Los Angeles Business Travel Association (LABTA) and Puget Sound Business Travel Association (PSBTA).

Carol A. Devine, CCTE, outgoing President and CEO, remarked, Suzanne brings with her years of industry knowledge and experience that I think will be a tremendous asset to NBTA and its members. Her commitment and enthusiasm for the issues important to corporate travel mangers will help her provide the necessary leadership to continue NBTA`s position as the most influential voice in the corporate travel industry.

Franklin has been a Direct Member of NBTA for five years. During this time he has served on the Chapter President`s Council, and has presented education sessions to attendees at the annual NBTA Convention and Trade Show and at NBTA chapter meetings throughout California and Virginia. He has also held various positions with the Los Angeles Business Travel Association (LABTA) including President, Director of Education and Director of Membership.

Devine continued, Suzanne and Charles are exemplary members of NBTA and I am confident they will do a fantastic job in continuing the efforts of the outgoing Board of Directors.

Fletcher and Franklin will serve two-year terms in their new positions. Lang`s term will last for three years.
