The Federation of Civil Aviation Service Associations (OSYPA) last week presented a report, which states that the new Athens airport at Spata, Eleftherios Venizelos, has about 180 deficiencies.
OSYPA president Vassilis Alevizopoulos told reporters that the shortages could be improved by October and not by March 28, which is the date that the airport is scheduled to formally open. Some of the needs that are underlined in the relevant report concern proper light signaling outside the boundaries of the airport, airplane refueling systems, as well as airplane maintenance facilities. The report, according to union executives, is now going to be submitted to the prosecutor's office.
