PATA`s Board of Directors sent a message of condolence and support, to PATA members in Pakistan following the October 8 earthquake in and around Kashmir. PATA Chairman Mr NobuTaka Ishikure and PATA President and CEO Mr Peter de Jong in a joint communique are seeking confirmation that family, friends and employees of PATA member organisations are all well.

The message said: The news of the earthquake is all the more tragic as so many children seem to have fallen victim. It is a cruel turn of events, coming so close after the disastrous earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean last year.

PATA offered to do what it could to assist the recovery process. Mr Ishikure and Mr de Jong wrote: All of us at PATA stand by you, as you begin the painstaking task of recovery. If there is anything that PATA can do at this moment, please let us know.
