Seatrade Middle East Cruise Forum heads to Muscat

The Forum, organised by Seatrade and hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, will feature a summit session attended by regional ministers, tourism authorities, port and immigration officials. A welcome address will be made by HE Maitha Al Mahrooqi, Undersecretary, Ministry of Tourism, Sultanate of Oman.

Key issues impacting the development of the Arabian Gulf’s cruise industry are to come under the spotlight at the Seatrade Middle East Cruise Forum, Oman being held at the five-star Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from December 9-10 2014.

A conference for the summit attendees plus ship agents, airlines, destination management companies and other cruise industry stakeholders will take place on the second day and will include an address from Khalid Al Zadjali, Director of Tourism Events, Ministry of Tourism, Sultanate of Oman.

As part of the Forum, the Ministry of Tourism will host 12 key officials of the world’s top cruise line operators including Costa; Crystal Cruises; Cunard; Holland America Line; MSC Cruises; Noble Caledonia; P&O Cruises; Princess Cruises; Royal Caribbean International; Seabourn; Silversea; TUI Cruises.

“This year’s Seatrade Middle East Cruise Forum is the latest in a long series of cruise events held in different Gulf destinations,” said Chris Hayman, Chairman of Seatrade, organisers of the event.

“The Forum is committed to promoting the region as a cruise destination and will continue the discussion of key issues impacting the development of the Gulf’s cruise industry.”

The Forum will also include a workshop session where each of the hosted cruise line executives will meet officials from participating destinations.

“This is an unrivalled opportunity for destinations in the region to get in front of the cruise line itinerary decision-makers to present their individual cases for port-of-call inclusion,” said Chris Hayman, Chairman, Seatrade.
