The Bob Vitagliano Scholarship was established in 2001 by SITE to honor the dedication and service of its former executive vice president and chief executive officer, who helped position SITE as a global leader in incentive education. Vitagliano served in the position from 1993 to 1999 and continues to be an active member of the organization. The scholarship program receives support from the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation and the SITE Foundation.
We are excited about the enthusiasm Jason and Anastasia have shown towards the incentive travel industry, said SITE President Peggy Whitman, CITE. Bob Vitagliano displayed the same passion during his time as a SITE leader and we couldn’t be more pleased with this year’s scholarship winners.
Part of the screening process included applicants having to submit an essay on the incentive and travel industry. Picciotti’s paper was entitled Managing with Incentives. Mihalakakos explored The ABC’s of Selecting and Incentive Destination. Both winners are students at Ryerson University’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and will receive Bachelor of Commerce degrees upon graduation.
