The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA<.>) announced that Singapore`s most acclaimed diplomat, Professor Tommy Koh, will deliver the opening keynote address at the 52nd PATA Annual Conference, April 13-17, 2003, in Bali, Indonesia. His speech will be entitled Culture and Tourism: From Heritage to Legacy, which is also the theme of the Conference.



Professor Koh`s expertise is drawn from his top-level research in such illustrious institutions as Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford and Yale universities.



In addition to serving as Singapore`s foremost diplomat in Canada, the United States and Mexico, in 1993 Professor Koh led the United Nations` mission to the Russian Federation, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. He has served as a World Trade Organization mediator in international disputes over the Helms Burton Act and dairy products.



Koh is currently Director of the Institute of Policy Studies and Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore.
