Mary Bennett, president of Skal nternational, called on Dubai`s tourism and hospitality sector to unite behind one message at a time of a global slow down in the industry.

Bennett was speaking on behalf of Skal, said: I urge you to use our global network, with its 23,000 members in 87 nations, to help you spread the message of the benefits of Dubai.

At times like this, it is the global message of `tourism through friendship` that should be carried ahead of us.

Ghassan Aridi, president of the Dubai chapter of Skal, stated that membership recruitment was top of the agenda, and forecast the doubling of its members by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Serge Zaalof, managing director of Madinat Jumeirah, confirmed that the new resort is on schedule so far, starting with the opening of its first boutique hotel, Mina A`Salam, in September.

He presented the plans to date, but maintained that giving the guests an experience they would not forget was a top priority, to ensure high levels of repeat business and customer satisfaction.
