L.E. 50 million to develop Islamic, Coptic monuments, tourist development in Minia

Minister of Tourism Dr. Mamdouh El-Beltagui along with Al-Minia Governor Major General Hassan Hemida inaugurated on Sunday a conference of Tourist Businessmen Association under the title Promoting, Developing Tourism in Minia.



During the conference, El-Beltagui said that the Ministry has set up strategy for tourist development in Minia aiming at developing the Islamic and Coptic monuments and archaeological sites in Bahnasa and Virgin Mary`s Monastery in El-Tor Mountain at a cost of L.E. 50 million.



Minia governorate is considered the administrative capital of North Upper Egypt and the launching point for Safari tourism in Western Oases in addition to its Nile islands that were declared as nature reserves.



On his part, the Minia Governor said that the neighboring area of Akhenaton Museum is currently being developed in association with the Ministry of Tourism, in addition to completing the development of all railway stations in the area.
