Changi Airport Group and Indeco engineers sign new maintenance contract

Changi Airport Group and Indeco Engineers signed a new maintenance contract for the maintenance of mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems and facilities at Changi Airport and Seletar Airport. The $20 million contract is for a three year period from 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2012. The contract was signed by Mr Lee Seow Hiang, Chief Executive Officer, Changi Airport Group and Mr Loi Pok Yen, Chairman, Indeco Engineers and Group Chief Executive Officer, CWT Limited.

The contract covers maintenance of air conditioning, mechanical and electrical systems at Changi Airport’s Terminal 1, Cargo Agent Buildings and ancillary buildings, the high-voltage power supply network at Changi Airport and the airfield lighting system at Seletar Airport. The new contract includes provisions for the contractor to propose new energy-saving initiatives that will conserve electricity and improve cost efficiency. The savings achieved will be shared by Changi Airport Group and Indeco Engineers.

Another feature of this contract is that the contractor’s staff working in the airport may be rewarded with Changi Airport shopping vouchers if key performance indicators and service standards are met consistently and good performance is sustained.

Speaking at the welcome address of the signing ceremony, Mr Lee said, “Changi Airport Group will work closely with our partners at the airport. They are always invited to put forward value-adding initiatives that can lead to improved service to our users. Together, we can realise greater efficiencies in operation, benefit our customers and stakeholders and share the fruits of this partnership.”
