Cheap Holidays operator features new Tunisia airport for 2011

Cheap Holidays tour operator Packyourbags adds Enfidha Airport as a good option for those wishing to travel to the year-round sunshine destination of Tunisia.

Whilst Tunisia already has several international airports, the government decided that a new airport should be built to better serve holidaymakers wishing to visit the tourist regions of Yasmine Hammamet, Port Kantaoui (near Hergla), Nabeul and Sousse, as well as the towns of Tunis, Sfax, Bizerte and Kairouan.

The new airport located at Enfidha is 80km south of the capital Tunis but in the middle of a major tourist region and therefore eases the passenger and goods traffic passing through Tunis-Carthage airport.

Whilst the new airport isn’t as luxurious as originally envisaged, the approach to its design certainly provides passengers a chance to relax with its mixture of modern and traditional styles making their experience of travelling through the airport a positive one.

The new airport only opened a year ago in October 2009 and Packyourbags will start selling holidays to Tunisia that features flights to the new airport from selected UK airports from May 2011, using charter flights operated by Thomson and Thomas Cook.

Packages start from just £268 per person based on flights from London Gatwick departing 04th May 2011 for 7 night’s hotel accommodation at the Miramar Hammamet on half board basis.

Whilst Tunisia is a year round destination it is certainly appealing through the UK’s winter months as its average temperature provides more guaranteed sunshine than many areas in the Med, and Packyourbags has plenty of last minute holidays to Tunisia suiting all tastes and budgets.

Mark Kempster, Managing Director of Packyourbags commented, "Whilst Spain holidays, Greece holidays and many other resorts in the Med are still as popular as ever, many travellers are certainly aware of the current poor Euro exchange rate. Therefore not only does Tunisia give UK holidaymakers a good chance of some guaranteed sun this winter, but travellers will also see their monies go much further than if they were holidaying to a Euro currency country".

Packyourbags features a huge selection of last minute deals that change on a daily basis and if Tunisia doesn’t appeal then another hot destination that is also benefiting from not being part of the Euro currency zone is Turkey – for the latest offers to Turkey visit Packyourbags dedicated Turkey holidays section.
