Continental Airlines<.> announced plans to begin nonstop service between Newark International Airport and Santiago in the Dominican Republic. Daily service will begin in November 1, 2002, subject to government approval.

Passenger traffic to the cities of Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic has been strong, said Continental Managing Director of Route Planning Karen Warkentin. Expanding service to include Santiago is the next logical step in building our presence in that important market.

Flights will be on a 155-seat Boeing 737-800 following this proposed schedule:

Departs Newark 6:30 p.m. Arrives Santiago 10:10 p.m.

Departs Santiago 8:00 a.m. Arrives Newark 12:00 p.m.

Continental`s well-timed flights between the New York area and Santiago will provide convenient connections with much of the airline`s extensive domestic and international network.
