The 80,000 visitors to MITT, the Moscow International Travel and Tourism fair, learned a lot more about Emirates and Dubai — thanks to this eyecatching new show stand where the award-winning airline highlighted its products and services.

The fair, Russia`s Arabian Travel Market, is the region`s largest travel show, and gives Emirates a perfect platform to spread the word about its new three-a-week link between Dubai and Moscow starting on 1st July.

Emirates` popular, modern, fuel-efficient Airbus A330-200 jets, with 18 First, 42 Business and 183 Economy class seats, will land at Domodedovo airport, south of Moscow. It is Russia`s largest and fastest-growing airport and has excellent road and rail links to the city.

It has two runways able to handle 75 flights an hour and a modern passenger terminal with the latest facilities, including automated check-in counters, airbridges, baggage carousels and state-of-the-art information technology, as well as Russia`s first airport mosque.

Now it is building two new wings to expand capacity to 8 000 passengers an hour, and by 2015 it is set to handle 20 million people a year, more than half of all air travellers to and from Moscow.

Hamad Obaidalla, Emirates` General Manager GCC, Yemen, Iran and CIS, says: We`ve chosen Domodedovo as it has so much to offer, and a lot in common with Emirates.

It`s a dynamic, customer-focused, airport — with a vision to be the best. This will support our pledge to offer customers the best service on the ground as well as in the air.

Mr Obaidalla expects many leisure travellers on the new non-stop link: Wealthy Russian tourists come to Dubai for sunshine and beach holidays, or to connect to the Indian Ocean, Far East and Australia. At present many have to fly via Europe, but now we`re bridging that gap.

Moscow-based Jeyhun Efendi, Sales Manager, Russia and CIS, says: We`ve been present offline here for the past two years, giving us an excellent chance to study the market and refine what we offer so as to meet, and exceed, travellers` expectations.

Moscow has seen a dramatic boom in travel recently and we expect continued strong growth in years to come, particularly in premium travel and to places beyond Dubai.

We`ll be the first airline to offer a quality longhaul product from Moscow itself, as other European airlines fly smaller aircraft with limited service. We will gladly fill that gap!
