Dubai-based Emirates Airline has moved to meet the needs of its fast-growing customers in Western Switzerland by opening a new office in Geneva – and expanded its team there to offer the best possible service and assistance.

Among VIP guests at a ceremony at the award-winning airline`s spacious, well-sited new Geneva offices were Nasser Al Aboodi, UAE Ambassador to Switzerland, top tour operators, business partners and press.

Nigel Page, Emirates` Senior General Manager Commercial Operations, Europe and North America, and Adnan Kazim, Area Manager Switzerland and Austria, cut the celebration cake – and briefed guests on Emirates` massive expansion plans and the many benefits they will offer Swiss travellers.

Mr Page proudly recalled the extremely successful six months to September, when Emirates reported record half-year profits of US $110 million — equal to growth of 140% on the year before. Emirates, founded in 1985, had now become one of the world`s six most profitable and 20 largest international airlines.

Mr Kazim said that since Zurich services started 10 years ago, Emirates` business had grown considerably. Demand from French-speaking Switzerland had increased strongly, and the Geneva area now brings Emirates a big slice of its Swiss earnings. UAE nationals in Geneva should find the new offices handy for ticketing and reservations services, confirmation of bookings, reroutings and a chance to plan trips in a more personal way.

Emirates Switzerland has seen rapid growth in business with the Geneva-based United Nations, and 12 UN departments there have contracted it as preferred airline for diplomatic and business travel from November 1st, 2003, one reason for the opening of the new offices.

Mr Kazim introduced his colleagues Jayne Haymoz, Sales Executive, and Dimna Halima, Senior Sales Assistant, who give customers in French-speaking Western Switzerland a comprehensive service in their mother tongue. He said: Our agency partners have helped make us first choice for travel to Dubai and more than 60 places overseas. We will continue making every effort to surprise you — time and time again.
