Growth takes flight at Singapore Changi Airport

Airport media specialist, EYE, announced that Singapore Changi Airport enjoyed a boost in passengers of 15.9 per cent in the first eight months of this year – giving EYE clients maximum exposure to international travellers.

According to Changi Airport Group, the number of passengers handled by Changi Airport increased 15.9 per cent year on year in the first eight months of 2010.

Passenger movements in August rose 9.6 per cent to 3.47 million, bringing the total number of passengers handled from January to August 2010 to 27.4 million.

Junice Liew, Head of Marketing, EYE Singapore commented, “We are optimistic about continued growth, particularly as the end of year peak period will see further jumps in passenger figures.

"Singapore Changi Airport is a world class airport that showcases Singapore as a business and tourism hub.

The fact that passenger numbers continue to grow highlights the fact that airport advertisers are in a prime position to promote their brands and products to an affluent international audience set.

On top of increasing passenger figures, Changi Airport has also recently won six more "Best Airport" awards, including those by Business Traveller and Conde Nast Traveler in the US.

"For EYE clients, there’s never been a better time to advertise at Changi especially as we usher in Deepavali, Christmas, the New Year rush and as passenger numbers peak. A world class airport, healthy traveller growth figures and premium Out-of-Home advertising offerings, make for a powerful combination for advertisers to get their messages across to consumers in Singapore," continued Liew.
