When all-new regional airline Lynx Aviation launches passenger operations this fall in the American West, it will rely on a package of services from ARINC Incorporated for flight communications as Lynx has contracted with ARINC for its GLOBALinkSM VHF data link service and OpCenterTM hosted messaging service.

OpCenter provides web-based message management for airline dispatchers, with store-and forward ability to streamline ground and air crew communications. Lynx will also use ARINC’s Air/Ground Domestic service for voice, and ARINC’s Digital ATIS (D-ATIS) for destination airport information.

A subsidiary of Denver-based Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc., Lynx entered airline category—low-cost regional service—with a fleet of 10 Bombardier coming this year. Lynx plans to roll out high-speed connections from Frontier’s Denver hub to as many as ten cities within a 500 mile radius.

“The Lynx low-cost business model is founded on efficient operations, which require dependable and highly efficient communications,” stated Brian Mooney, Lynx Director of SOC. “We chose a portfolio of ARINC services for Lynx because of the company’s proven record of reliability and their outstanding implementation support for Frontier.”

“ARINC has enjoyed a solid working relationship with Frontier Airlines for years, and we are very pleased they have chosen us again for the new Lynx low-cost regional service,” stated Dan Shea, Account Director, ARINC Commercial Aviation Sales.

Frontier Airlines was among the first customers for ARINC’s OpCenter service, which helps dispatchers manage data link messages efficiently.

Lynx Aviation plans to launch operations in 2007 with service between Denver and several soon-to-be-announced destinations after delivery of its first Q400 aircraft. A total of ten Q400s are on order for deliveries between July and December. Ten additional option aircraft would be delivered by the end of 2008.
