Navtech Inc., a global leader in flight operations software and services has significantly expanded its business in Australia by signing major contracts with a number of major airlines, including Qantas, Qantaslink, Skywest, and start-up Strategic Airlines.
“Our flight planning and performance products have been significantly enhanced with our customers’ safety and efficiency in mind,” said Mike Hulley, Navtech President & CEO. “This expansion in Australia is an affirmation of that hard work. I am pleased to see so many Australia based airlines committing to Navtech.”
Qantas will use Navtech’s runway and obstacle data and its regional airline Qantaslink, will use Navtech’s Flight Planning software for its eleven B717 aircraft.
Perth-based Skywest has also contracted to use Navtech’s Flight Planning software. Its fleet of 15 F100 and F50 aircraft will soon have access to Navtech’s newly-designed, Web-based interface. The software enables users to take advantage of dynamic route construction and new fuel burn routines.
Strategic Airlines is Australia’s newest airline, based in Melbourne and Brisbane. The airlines will use Navtech’s performance and flight planning services. Navtech’s performance product will be used with Strategic’s A320 and A330 aircraft, enabling maximum payload efficiency, minimized engine wear and reduced maintenance costs. Further, every Strategic flight plan will be built using Navtech’s flight planning product, which focuses on maximizing aircraft safety and lowering operating costs.
