PLAY airlines expands partnership with Dohop to launch PLAY Connect retail platform

PLAY airlines expands its services with PLAY Connect, partnering with Dohop to offer 600 additional weekly connections and access to 80 new destinations.

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND – PLAY airlines, Iceland’s growing low-cost airline, is marking its third anniversary by expanding its partnership with Dohop to become a retail partner with the launch of PLAY Connect.

Free from the limitations of traditional interline and codeshare agreements, PLAY is expanding its network and tapping into new demand by connecting to five launch partners, including Norwegian, Azores Airlines, and SKY express, with more partners to come. This allows them to offer their customers an additional 600 weekly flight connections, bringing them to new destinations across the U.S. and Europe, like the Nordics and the Greek islands.

With 80 new destinations available, PLAY Connect enables travellers to conveniently book flight connections across multiple airline partners including ancillaries in a single booking process, complementing its own 40 destinations served by its Airbus A320/A321 fleet.

Bookings made through PLAY Connect are covered by Dohop’s highly-rated passenger connection service, which provides assistance in case flight delays or cancellations impact the onward journey.

“Aligning with Dohop early in our journey, initially as a supplier, has proven to be smart as it has considerably extended the reach of our brand,” commented Tatiana Shirokova, Head of Distribution at PLAY airlines. “Today, we’re excited to introduce PLAY Connect, which allows us to strengthen and broaden our offering to more destinations across the U.S. and Europe. We can reach new customers and grow incremental revenue while our passengers benefit from more options and reliable connections,” she said.

“We are delighted to expand our collaboration with PLAY airlines to support their growth ambitions,” added Sarah Hanan, CCO of Dohop. “PLAY has built a very impressive network within three years and we look forward to enabling further partnerships for them, making connected travel simpler and more accessible.”
