Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 8.2% for the 11 months of 2019

In January – November 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 155,910 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 2.1% year-on-year.

In January – November 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 18,235,493 passengers, which is 8.2% more than in the same period of 2018. For the 11 months of 2019, the number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 10.1% and amounted to 11,169,326 passengers. International traffic increased by 5.4% and amounted to 7,066,167 passengers.

In January – November 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 155,910 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 2.1% year-on-year.

In January – November 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines, were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 11,028,460 passengers at St. Petersburg airport or 60.5% of the total traffic for that period. Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Finnair, and Turkish Airlines, became the leaders at Pulkovo Airport for the 11-month period of 2019. In total, they handled 1,306,866 passengers at St. Petersburg airport or 7.2% of the airport traffic in January – November 2019.

In November 2019, 1,374,406 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 6.8% higher than in the same month of 2018.

The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 8.2% to 949,887 passengers. International traffic increased by 3.8% and amounted to 424,519 passengers.

In November 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 12,426 take-off and landing operations.

In November 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Pobeda, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, and Smartavia, were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 886,950 passengers or 64.5% of the total traffic at St. Petersburg Airport for that period. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, Lufthansa, Finnair, and Emirates. In total, they handled 110,123 passengers at Pulkovo or 8% of the airport traffic in November 2019.

Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport is the fourth airport in Russia in terms of passenger numbers. In 2019, St. Petersburg airport, for the fourth year in a row, became the winner of the national ‘Air Gates of Russia’ award, according to the passengers’ votes. Since 2010, Northern Capital Gateway LLC has been the main operator of Pulkovo implementing  the airport reconstruction and development project under the public-private partnership agreement with the city St. Petersburg.
