In July 2024, Katowice Airport set a record by serving 847,410 passengers, marking a 12% increase from the previous year, with strong growth in both regular and charter flights.
In July 2024, Katowice Airport handled a total of 847,410 passengers, i.e. 90,851 more (+12.0%) in comparison with the same time last year. For the first time in the history of Katowice Airport, more than 800,000 passengers were served in a single month.
315,630 passengers, i.e. 19 248 more (+6.5%) than the year before, were handled on regular flights, which are operated at the Airport by Wizz Air, Ryanair, LOT Polish Airlines and Air Dolomiti/Lufthansa. Dortmund, London-Luton, London-Stansted, Frankfurt and Eindhoven were the most popular destinations.
527,692 passengers, i.e. 69,892 more (+15.3%) than in July 2023, were handled on charter flights. The following destinations were most popular among passengers flying with travel agencies: Antalya, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Djerba and Heraklion.
On 15 July, Katowice Airport handled the three-millionth passenger in 2024. Never before have so many passengers been handled so quickly in the airport’s history. The milestone from 2023, when such a result was noted on 31 July, was surpassed.
In the seventh month of 2024, 5 598 aircraft takeoffs and landings were noted at the Airport; that’s 132 operations more (+2.4%) than the year before.
“We have passed the middle of summer holiday, and can already confirm that it will be the best high season in the history of our airport. We expect to serve approx. 840K passengers in August as well. According to our latest forecast, we should conclude 2024 with over 6.2M handled passengers,” said Artur Tomasik, President of the Board of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL S.A.).
From January to the end of July 2024, Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport handled a total of 3 463 319 passengers, i.e. 460 815 more (+15.3%) than during the first seven months of 2023.

The forecast for 2024 estimates that over 6M passengers – most in the history of Katowice Airport – will be handled.
