First jobs created with new Sydney - Melbourne route

Tiger Airways partners with Aero-Care

Tiger Airways announced that Aero-Care has been appointed as Ground Handling Partner for its new route from Melbourne to Sydney which commences 3 July, creating the first round of jobs associated with the airline’s new Sydney-Melbourne route.

“Our expansion into Sydney is very exciting – not only for our customers, but also for people of NSW and Victoria with the creation of 20 new jobs with our ground handling partner Aero-Care,” Shelley Roberts, Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director, said.

“In addition to providing travelers with our famous low, low fares, the partnership with Aero-Care will mean that more people have the chance to work with Australia’s only true low fare airline. We are making travel accessible to everyday Australians who may never have travelled before or may not have travelled as often.

“Every day I hear from our passengers how friendly and helpful our ‘front line’ Aero-Care staff are,” said Shelley. They are delivering excellent customer service right across our domestic network and I couldn’t be more pleased that they now will do the same in Sydney.

Tiger Airways will commence flights between Melbourne and Sydney from 3 July 2009, with a convenient schedule of up to four flights between both destinations daily.

Not only will this expansion be welcome news to the NSW and Victorian economies in terms of job creation but it is estimated that Tiger’s introduction will significantly boost tourism by making an extra 500,000 visitor seats available between the two cities annually.

Glenn Rutherford, Aero-Care Managing Director, is delighted to work with Tiger Airways in Sydney, particularly with the opportunities available to potential employees. “It’s a real thrill for Aero-Care to be able to grow our own business alongside Tiger Airways as they expand their operations in Australia,” he said. “We are delighted to be working with Tiger to create jobs and buck the trend while other airlines are cutting back capacity and services. We’d like to hear from anyone who would like to join the Tiger/Aero-Care team by visiting www.aerocare.com.au. Aero-Care will begin recruitment and training staff within the next few weeks, ready to go for the first flight from Melbourne to Sydney on 3 July.”
