Abu Dhabi International Airport handled a total of 534,583 passengers in March 2007, a 48 per cent rise over the 361,591 passengers seen in March 2006. The number of aircraft movements increased 7% during the same period rising from 6,178 in March 2006 to 6,598.

During the first quarter of 2007 total passenger traffic reached 1.575 million, an increase of 25% over the 1.255 million passengers in the same period in 2006, although, due to increased average aircraft size and higher seat load factors, aircraft movements declined marginally, reaching19,216.

Abu Dhabi International Airport is experiencing high levels of growth as a result of the continued expansion of Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates and one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. During the past year, Etihad added 15 wide-body aircraft to its fleet as well as 10 new international destinations, including most recently New York, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney.

  • Any adjustments to preliminary statistics will be included in the year to date results in future month
