Best family trips in the UK

If you do decide to go on a family trip in the UK, then there are a few things you’ll need to sort out.

Staycations in the UK are becoming increasingly popular. Inquiries about breaks in Britain went up 74 per cent in 2022 as families searched for an easier holiday. With travel abroad made less certain during the pandemic, many now see a staycation as a more relaxing, exciting option. Below, we explore the best family trips in the UK.

North Wales
North Wales is an area of immense natural beauty. The landscape is dominated by Snowdonia national park and if you fancy an active holiday, you can complete many different, stunning hikes around this area. And with Bangor and Llandudno nearby, there are plenty of towns for you to visit and stay at during your trip.

North Yorkshire
North Yorkshire is another area of outstanding natural beauty – mainly owing to the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Hiking anywhere around this area can offer you sublime views and plenty of fun. Not to mention the beautiful seaside towns where you can enjoy the sea and refuel on local fish and chips.

Cornwall
If you want to escape to remote countryside, then Cornwall is the best choice. Featuring a rugged, picturesque landscape dominated by rolling hills and dramatic cliffs, Cornwall makes you feel totally removed from the city. Plus, there are hundreds of quaint and different little towns and villages for you to stay in. From the arty Padstow to the beautiful Mawgan Porth there are all sorts of options out there for you. And if you fancy a family day out, there are plenty of activities from the Eden Centre to St Nectan’s Glen

The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds covers 800 square km around Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire. Famed for golden stone and lovely hills, the Cotswolds are a distinctively English set of pretty villages. Visit Woodstock and Blenheim Palace for the best taste of what this cosy area has to offer.

If you do decide to go on a family trip in the UK, then there are a few things you’ll need to sort out. Ensure that your car has been serviced and is in top condition, while also making sure that it has a great value insurance option. As long as your car is in good shape and you remember all the essentials, you should be set for a refreshing break with your family.
