Chamonix, the new place to be for American skiers

For skiers and snowboarders, Chamonix is a little paradise on earth.

If you love skiing, there are several places in France where you can have some fun. However, none of them offers the same unique package of nightlife, foodies and lots of fun as Chamonix. This is a French town located at the base of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe.  The town of Chamonix is very lively all year round. There are several ski areas in the Mont Blanc valley. Chamonix town has existed since the start of the last century.  The mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Western Europe. The summit standing at a jaw-dropping 12,000 feet above the town. Cham' is a great location for skiing, especially for climbers who are looking for adrenaline-inducing experiences. Here are a few activities that American skiers can enjoy in Chamonix, even when it is not winter ! 

View the Alps from a helicopter
Hover above Mont Blanc on a helicopter. View the glaciers up close in the background of the amazing blue skies. A helicopter allows you to also enjoy amazing bird's-eye views of Chamonix below and the surrounding wilds. It is an unforgettable experience, especially on a warm, sunny morning when the weather is clear. The snow gives a feeling of brightness, making the greenery look so much better.

You get to the "Mer de Glace" via a fire-engine-red Montenvers Train, which goes up 3,000 feet from the town. This track was completed in 1909. The Montenvers train allows you to admire the "Mer de Glace". It is the largest glacier in France.

Explore the Alps in Tandem Parapente flights
If you want to experience the thrill of seeing Chamonix from above, you should consider parapenting flights . You fly at a safe altitude and fly like a bird with a fully qualified and experienced instructor. Therefore, the experience is safe and magical. This luge is a whopping 1300 metres long with amazing turns and spins that will put your adrenaline on the edge. Ice climbing
If you already love hiking, you should consider something more intense: ice climbing. The Alps provide thick, stable layers of snow that you can climb without a problem. Get your hiking boots and other gear in place and make a run to the peak of the mountains.

You can hire some gear, such as ropes and backpacks, at the base of the mountain if you do not carry your own. You can choose the course that fits your fitness levels. It is a great vacation activity with your family and friends.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a perfect activity for those who would like to catch the fresh air of Chamonix without the speed of skiing. It also lets you escape the crowds and experience the best of the countryside while walking. If you are not experienced in snow walking, you can book a guided tour. These trips are informative, safe and friendly. You can even take part with your entire family.

There are several areas across the Alps where you can enjoy shoestring activities. Many people love getting lost in the snow-filled woodlands. Otherwise, you may take one around St. Bernard Monastery (Switzerland) or in Courmayeur (Italia). Each of these locations has various trails for different fitness levels.
