Four reasons to add Canada to your travel bucket list

Canada has about 48 diverse National Parks in total, filled with wildlife, snowcapped mountains, crystal clear lakes, steep climbs, icebergs, hiking trails, camping spots, and everything else that any outdoor adventurer can possibly ask for.

Canada is an understated spot within the travel and tourism industry, except for those who know what the Great White North has to offer. In case Canada is not on your bucket list yet, that should change after you are done reading through the following points.

The city of Montreal, Quebec
Very few cities in the world have managed to embed diversity in art, culture, food, architecture, language, music, and entertainment, as well as Montreal has. Some of the ancient city’s main attractions are as follows:

Festival International de Jazz de Montréal – if you like jazz, you cannot miss out on the world’s biggest jazz music event. It takes place in September, but you will need to book your tickets well in advance.

Casino de Montréal – Casino de Montréal is the largest casino in all of Canada, sporting over 3,200 slot machines! Admittedly, it is more convenient and a lot less expensive to simply visit a website like jackpotcitycasino.com/canada for a wider variety of slot games at any time, but the place deserves a visit for its historic value at least.

Musée d’Art Contemporain and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts – These two places are must-visits for anyone interested in the city’s intimate connection with art in all its form, ever since Montreal was first established back in the 1600s.

Canada is the heartland of outdoor adventures
Canada has about 48 diverse National Parks in total, filled with wildlife, snowcapped mountains, crystal clear lakes, steep climbs, icebergs, hiking trails, camping spots, and everything else that any outdoor adventurer can possibly ask for. Let’s consider the Wood Buffalo National Park for example, as it is the largest in Canada at 44,807 sq. km. Follow any of the several established trails through its boreal forests and salt plains to see stunning vistas of nature at its most beautiful.

After the hike, take a canoe and explore the Peace-Athabasca Delta the next day. The place is home to wolverines, red foxes, timber wolves, lynxes, bears, wolverines, bison, wood bison, marmots, martens, beavers, peregrine falcons, bald eagles, and numerous other species of wildlife. Time your visit right and you should be able to see some of the local wildlife coming in for fishing and drinking as you sit in your canoe at a safe distance.

The largest animal made structure on the land is in Canada
Did you know that beavers have worked together since the 1970s to build a dam in Alberta (inside the Wood Buffalo National Park) that can be seen from space? The 2,790 feet long dam is, by far, the largest and the most amazing structure that any animal has ever managed to build consciously and collectively on land. You will have to look at it from afar of course, but it still remains an awe-inspiring sight.

Canada is a treasure trove for nature photographers
The same places that provide adrenalin junkies and nature lovers with the scope to enjoy nature at its best also allow nature photographers to catch stunning photographs. A few of Canada’s most picturesque locations for professional and amateur photographers are as follows:

  • Shimmering, turquoise, and blue waters in Moraine Lake, Banff National Park
  • Grasslands, orchards, wildflowers, open skies, and vineyards within the Okanagan Valley
  • An unpolluted, dark window into the Milky Way, right inside the Grasslands National Park
  • The Telegraph Cove offers the best spot for both watching and photographing killer whales and grizzlies in action

By now, you should have more than enough reasons to start planning the itinerary. Chances are that once you pay that first visit to Canada, you will find several reasons to come back again.
