How to get to the Airport stress-free

Here are some pointers to help you get to the airport stress-free.

Everyone knows that the most stressful part of a holiday is getting there. Once you arrive, you can relax and start enjoying yourself. However, getting there involves deadlines, important documents, forgetting essentials, and everyone running around! But what if you turned up at your destination already relaxed and fully in holiday mode? Here are some pointers to help you get to the airport stress-free.

Lists
First off, lists are your friend. You might think you can hold all the information in your head, but that leads to panic that something will be forgotten (which is much more likely) and no one else can help you. Feeling like everything is on your shoulders is one reason many get stressed before a holiday. If you have family members who can’t be trusted with their own packing, list everything they need and ask them to gather everything onto their bed. As you pack, you can tick off the item as it goes in it. Put a list on the back of the front door so that you check it off before you leave the house. Keep your lists on your phone and start early so you can write them down if something comes to you.

Transport
Between getting out the door and arriving at the airport, there are many stress factors. If you’re driving yourself, you will worry about the best route, potential traffic, and parking. If you’re getting public transport, you need to meet several timetables before you even get to your plane. If the transport aspect is a particular stress trigger for you, why not look into an airport car service? For instance, why not look into JAX airport transportation? Jacksonville airport car service are professional companies which do the route daily; they know the best places to drop you off to get to your terminal, and they’re up to date with potential traffic problems. If you want to give your holiday a boost, then you could even look into a limousine service. A limo service would really add that wow factor, and there are lots around like this Jacksonville Limo service.

Understand the process
If airports and flying stress you, try to investigate the procedures and routine. Once it becomes more familiar, you might be calmer.

Ticket – You will normally get an electronic ticket, and you can check in 24 hours in advance and receive your boarding pass. The boarding pass lets you onto the plane. You will be given a paper boarding pass if you check in at the airport when you arrive.

Luggage – checked luggage (which goes in the plane’s hold) gets left at this point. If you checked in online, there will be places to check your bag – just look for signs.

Security – there is normally little to do ‘land side’ at an airport; you will need to go through security for more shops and places to eat. Typically bags are placed in trays to go through a scanner while you walk through a body scanner. There will be signs telling you what to do, so look at these before joining a queue. This is a slow process, and large lines often form – so allow plenty of time to get through. If you’re concerned about your flight time, talk to a staff member.
