Planning a stag party? Here are some useful tips

This article will provide you with a few useful tips you can use if you are planning a stag party, to help you with this process.

Being the best man is an honour! However, you may be required to do a few things for the groom as part of the transition from a single to a married man. One of the major things to celebrate this passage is the stag party, which is often organized by the best man. If you have never planned such an event before, do not panic.

This article will provide you with a few useful tips you can use if you are planning a stag party, to help you with this process.

Ask the groom for a guest list
One of the main things to think about when planning a stag party is the guest list – this should be the first thing you think about as the size of the group may dictate what activities you can organise. It can be easy for you to assume that you know exactly who to invite but do not be that person! Ask the groom who they would like to invite to the stag party so that you include all of his loved ones and avoid inviting someone the stag may not want there. Once you have this list ready you can start making your other plans.

Create a chain
When you have a list of guests ready, you must come up with simple ways of communicating with everyone. One of the most difficult parts of organising an event is managing the guest list and keeping everyone informed of what is going on. This will be less of a problem if you create a chain of communication for the guests. Technology allows for this to be easily achieved as you may create an online group with all the individuals that are invented and where everyone can communicate. This way you can inform everyone at once of what the plans are and they can also let you know whether they will be able to attend.

Decide on a date
This should usually be a decision that the stag would make, but it may differ from case to case. It may be challenging trying to come up with a date when everyone is free to attend, as invitees may have a range of requests. Ask the stag to pick a date (or you can pick one yourself!) – This way you can let everyone know that this is when the party will be and whoever is free can attend.

Come up with activities
The number of activities that you can plan for a stag do may surprise you – if you do not already have an idea, you may quickly become overwhelmed once you start searching for what to do. Evidently, you should take the stag’s interests into account and this should be the main factor – but also the guests’. You want the groom to have fun but it is unlikely he will enjoy himself if his guests are miserable. You may choose to have a more intimate party in a private venue, go out to a nightclub, or do group activities like paintballing so that everyone can be active and the friendly competition will make things fun. You may even decide to have a full day of different activities so that you are sure everyone enjoys themselves.

Set a plan
As the best man, you may be thrilled to have the responsibility to plan the stag party for the groom, but it will also be a lot of work. From thinking about the activities, making arrangements and reservations to communicating with the guests, planning a stag party can be hectic. However, things will be much easier if you set a plan to start with. As soon as you know you will have to bring this event to life, write down everything that you need to do and give yourself some deadlines. This will prevent you from feeling overwhelmed or things from going wrong.

Set a budget
Stag dos can be expensive if you are not considerate of this. Decide on how much money you want to spend on this event and take your guests into consideration. Not everyone is willing to spend their life savings on a night out or weekend away, so set something that will make it easier for people to pay for and attend. It may be a good idea to ask the guests (in your group chain as discussed previously) how much money they are willing to spend to give you an idea of what your budget will be. You should also make sure that everyone is aware of the plans and how much they will need to send you as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Ask for help
If you start feeling overwhelmed, do not be afraid to ask for help – ask the groom, his family, or even some of the people on the guest list for help. You can ask them to take care of some aspects of the party so that there is less pressure on you.
