Planning Your Walt Disney World Holiday

Taking your family to Walt Disney World can be one of the most exciting memorable experiences of your children's youth. However, with so much to do in a short space of time it is essential that your plan your Disney holiday careful to make sure you get the most out of your time at Disney.

Firstly, what time of year are you planning your holiday? Prices of Disney World holidays vary widely between different times of the year so it is important to choose carefully. Top prices tend to charged around the school holiday times, with particularly high prices in June and July, as well as at Christmas. You much also remember that the weather in Florida is not always glorious sunshine year round. Temperatures can dip in the winter to the low teens (Celsius) but can also skyrocket in August where temperatures of 33-35 with high humidity are normal with ferocious thunderstorm in the late afternoons. There are many benefits however to travelling within these lower prices times in August, US schools re-open mid-August, therefore the parks are not as busy meaning short or even no queues at attractions. Travelling in the cooler winter months also reduces the risks of over exposure to the sun, as well as more comfortable conditions for enjoying the parks.

 

Next, do you want to stay in a Disney hotel right in the parks or in an independent hotel further out? Staying at a Disney owned hotel is a wonderful and magical experience for children and adults alike. With hotels to suit all tastes, you can stay at a lower cost Disney Value hotel such as All-Star Movies resort, where Disney characters fill the hotel and swimming pools are decked out in brightly coloured Disney themed, or relax in the luxurious Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge situated in the heart of the animal kingdom game safari park. Alternatively, for lower cost options, stay in one of the hundreds of wonderful hotels in and around the Orlando area for a great variety of style, taste and price.

 

Lastly, how many days do you want to spend in the Disney parks? There are four Walt Disney World Resort theme park, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Each of these takes an absolute minimum of one day to explore, however it is recommended that you spread out your park experiences so you can enjoy your holiday and not return home exhausted! Disney Tickets are currently sold at 5, 7, 14, and 21 day values. The 5 and 7 day premium tickets allow you visit multiple parks on one day, but only include limited access to some of the other amenities available in the resort such as the two Disney Water Parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. The 14 and 21 day ultimate tickets allow unlimited access to all Disney amenities giving you extra flexibility, such being able to visit a park until 2.30pm when it can get very hot, followed by a visit to a water park to cool off!
