While Singapore is known as one of the most expensive cities to live in the world, you can save up a budle in dining expenses in Tiong Bahru's mom and pop shops and hawker stalls that serve budget-friendly food options that you will surely enjoy.  

Eat up at Maxwell Food Centre
While this may not a scenic spot, tourists and locals alike flock to Maxwell Food Centre in Tanjong Pagar because of one thing – food. Take an adventure at Kusu Island
If you're looking to embark on a unique heritage experience, the travel to Kusu Island is about a 45-min trip away from Singapore's main island. While it may not be popular among the foreign tourists, locals and those seeking adventure are drawn to its mystical allure. It also serves as an annual pilgrimage place for Taoist devotees to pay tribute to a legendary turtle who saved a group of sailors from a shipwreck in one of its three Malay temples. To get there, you can visit this island by riding a ferry from Marina South Pier. 

While the locations make be less popular in Singapore, these spots have their own charm that other attractions do not possess – local history and culture.
