Traveling to North Carolina? Here are a few things that you must know

Well, if you have your plans for traveling to North Carolina and having the time of your life, here are a few things to know beforehand.

North Carolina is a beautiful place to travel, attracting people from around the globe.

People like to explore the state for its beaches, islands, and for a number of other attractions. Just like you.

Well, if you have your plans for traveling to North Carolina and having the time of your life, here are a few things to know beforehand.

1. Want to explore the Outer Banks and Asheville? Be prepared
Two of the major attractions for people traveling to North Carolina are the Outer Banks and Asheville.

Undoubtedly, both  locations are beautiful and offer unmatchable experiences. But is it that easy to see them both on one trip?

Well, it’s not impossible. However, you must be prepared to spend a lot of time in your vehicle, because they are almost 500 miles apart.

Being precise, the journey on the road may take you nearly seven hours. So, keep that in mind.

2. Prioritize your destinations based on your entry point into the state
If you are planning to drive to North Carolina, depending on the route that you choose, northern or southern beaches can be more comfortable for you to start your escapades.

Also, having a car will make travel easier for you, as you won’t have to depend on taxis or public vehicles. So, you can either drive to the place or rent a car once you reach here.

And if you are planning to fly in and want to start your experience with the Outer Banks, it’ll be better to book your air tickets for getting down at Norfolk, Va. Airport (ORF).

It’s much closer to the Outer Banks as compared to RDU (Raleigh) or Charlotte.

Still, if you choose to arrive in Raleigh, you can have a great experience at one of their Breweries. Plus, Chapel Hill is a cool nearby town.

3. Know about the peak season
We all know how it can get challenging to find accommodations at many tourist locations during the peak season. Plus, even if we manage to find something, the prices can be overwhelming.

The same holds true for peak season bookings in and around North Carolina as well.

Note that traveling during the peak season can be a great experience. The only thing you need to do is make sure that you have a good, safe place to stay and book as early as you can.

It’s best to trust only the most qualified and experienced services like Carolina Designs Vacation Rentals for accommodation.

4. Find out the distances
As you are planning to visit North Carolina and enjoy your travel experiences, you will also need to know about the distances between places that you wish to see.

For example, we have already mentioned the distance between the Outer Banks and Asheville. So, you can plan whether you wish to visit both these places or not.

Similarly, it’s important to note that the distance between Charlotte and Asheville is around 125 miles, and it’ll take you a little over two hours to cover this stretch.

If you are flying to the Charlotte airport, you are in luck, as you can easily do an Asheville, Charleston or Wilmington roundup.

Also, traveling from Charlotte to Charleston will take around three hours on the road, and three and a half hours to travel from Charlotte to Wilmington. That’s where you can enjoy your beach vacation.

5. From beautiful sunsets to breathtaking mountains, you can have it all
NC is popularly known for its beautiful beaches. Also, the place offers the tourists a serene experience with its mind blowing sunsets and the breathtaking mountain ranges.

Clearly, you can do a lot when you have enough time and money at hand. But if you are on a budget or can’t spend a lot of time, you may have to make some tough decisions.

In situations like these, you can decide your destinations based on your circumstances.

For example, if you don’t have too much time, you can choose to thoroughly explore one location, whether it has beaches or mountains. And if you are coming with your family, you can focus on locations with exciting family adventures.

Just remember that, in order to enjoy all experiences, you must not miss out on making the most out of each moment.
