Traveling from Las Vegas to Phoenix is an excellent trip where you can see historic towns, plenty of views, and the Southwest up close. You don’t need much time for this road trip either, as you can cover the 302 miles in three to four days. Use our itinerary below to plan your trip:

- Willow Beach to Chloride Ghost Town (46 miles) – has an old-west atmosphere you can soak up and enjoy as you slow down for a bit of your trip
- Chloride Ghost Town to Kingman (23 miles) – offers Route 66 nostalgia, with a Route 66 museum and classic diners
- Kingman to Hackberry General Store (27 miles) – the iconic Route 66 sop is now a mini museum which is worth stopping to see
- Hackberry General Store to Grand Canyon Caverns (35 miles) – is 200 feet below the surface and is filled with rock formations that are worth a visit
- Grand Canyon Caverns to Seligman (25 miles) – is full of quirky roadside charm, fantastic gift shops, and a Roadkill Cafe
- Seligman to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park (159 miles) – The 400-foot-long tunnel is the perfect place to stretch your legs after a long drive
- Tonto Natural Bridge State Park to Prescott National Forest (61 miles) – Lynx Lake is a high point where you can fish, paddle boat, or relax and enjoy the sunshine
- Prescott National Forest to Jerome (11 miles) – this former mining town has historic buildings, art galleries, and museums that help you learn about the haunted towns in Arizona
- Jerome to Montezuma Castle National Monument (26 miles) – has one of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in North America, with plenty of walking trails and picnic spots
- Montezuma Castle National Monument to Phoenix (94 miles) – where you can visit the Desert Botanical Gardens or Musical Instrument Museum
Las Vegas To Reno Road

- Dayton – is one of Nevada’s oldest settlements, with plenty of historical sites to enjoy
- Virginia City – is a little detour, but you can enjoy the living ghost town and Mark Twain museum
