Wanderlust amidst the pandemic

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, people never lost their interest in hitting the road and the majority are waiting for the right time to adjust to the situation before finally succumbing to their thirst for adventure.

Travelling is one of the indulgences for people who love adventure and to break free from the stress or monotony of life. We see new things, experience different cultures, and explore places we haven’t seen before.

Before we were hit by the covid-19 pandemic, tourism from all over the world was thriving. Many sightseers visit other countries such as the people in Asia they go to Europe or the US or any English-speaking countries to learn in-depth English language and learn the culture of the locals as well so it is like hitting two birds in one stone.

People in the northern part of Europe go to tropical countries in Asia or the Mediterranean and enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. While basking on a long lounge and sipping cocktails under the shade in one of the Mediterranean beaches people usually spend their laid-back moments on the smartphone checking their social media, playing mobile games, or wagering online.

Uusimmatkasinot one of the famous casino sites in Finland is introducing their online casinos with a Pay n Play scheme. Pay n play casino is becoming more and more popular in the online gambling world because of their no registration scheme. So, if you want to play in any of their casino sites, you just input your BankId and you can start wagering.

The pandemic’s impact to worldwide tourism
We are currently still in the middle of a health crisis that has plagued us for two years. Its effect is so terrible that it cost the lives of so many people, it created a downfall of the world economy and businesses started to collapse and go bankrupt. Tourism was badly affected because all countries prevented traveling and if we can, it was limited.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, people never lost their interest in hitting the road and the majority are waiting for the right time to adjust to the situation before finally succumbing to their thirst for adventure.

Tourism worldwide was badly affected by the present health crisis since all travels in and out of the country have been halted and even moving around in their own territory is limited for fear of getting infected in 2020. Everyone is confined in their homes many lost their jobs and became dependent on what the government can help. It was this year when tourism all over the world hit a staggering drop of $568.6 billion compared to the forecast of $711.94 billion and a decline of 20% compared to the 2019 level which indicates financial crisis according to the global revenue from the travel and tourism industry.

The majority of the hotels, bed and breakfast inns, and resorts had to close and some partially opened to some local tourists but they have to increase their level of disinfecting and cleaning their place. Major restaurants and car rentals were closed. Only a few drive-thrus and fast-food chains were allowed to open.

When vaccines were introduced in 2021 and slowly the people’s lives are getting back to a normal pace, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced that tourist arrivals have increased to 4% in that same year. There has been little progress though since the majority of the countries have to keep their borders closed. Some countries are partially open but with a lot of restrictions and tourists have to undergo quarantine for days and they have to present a lot of documents and health certificates before they can fully enjoy their vacation.

Tourism in 2022
The tourism industry sees something positive this year though it still advises one has to be vigilant because the virus keeps on evolving. There’s a possibility that some countries will open their tourism partially to foreigners as long as they follow the health protocol imposed by their government.

Final thoughts
The pandemic has hit our economy hard since it limited the move and plans of many. This year marked a silver lining to not just tourism but all major industries.
