According to the preparation of the next edition of the World Connect (Annual Airline Conference) organized by APG which will take place in MALTA from 26th to 28th October 2022, the topic this year is: “How do airlines adapt in a changing world”.
- How do you see the development of the global airline industry in the years to come after it has suffered potentially the worst crisis in its history?
I am confident that the industry will be restored and the demand for travel will outpace supply initially. Customer expectations are likely to be higher and airlines will need to be more considerate in the way they treat their customers and more flexible in responding to their higher expectations. Sustainability and environmental pressures will climb up to the top of the industry agenda but in the face of rising costs the industry must also deal with the pressures of financial sustainability.
- The theme this year is: "How do airlines adapt in a changing world" What is your point of view on this subject?
Different times require different solutions and the industry would do well not to be consumed by the worst crisis in its history. A changing world will no longer respect tradition and airlines will be required to adapt to new realities. The game will no longer be about winning or losing but about changing and adapting in a very competitive environment.
- Lastly, if you have already been a speaker on previous occasions at World Connect, please would you answer the following additional question; What do you believe is/are the main reason(s) that draw people to the event?
The diversity of the content of the conference programme and the ease with which participants can network in a very friendly and informal atmosphere.
