TravelDailyNews: What is the position of Amadeus in the global market? What were your main highlights for 2003?



Julia Sattel: Today GDSs process approx. 1.5 billion reservations. Amadeus is the leading GDS with 28.6% market share (YTD Sep 03).

In 2003, Amadeus joined DOW Jones Stoxx Sustainability Index and also formed a strategic alliance for IT services with IBM.



TDN: What is the ownership of Amadeus today, and where does the company have offices?



J.S.: Today, Air France owns 23.36% of Amadeus, Iberia 18.28%, Lufthansa 18.28%, and private investors 40.08%. The headquarters of Amadeus is in Madrid, Spain, software development & product marketing division is in Nice (France) and our data processing center is in Munich (Germany). We also have regional offices in Boston (USA), in Miami (USA), in Sydney (Australia), Bangkok (Thailand), in Buenos Aires (Argentina), and in London (UK). The total number of employees in Amadeus exceeds 5,100. Furthermore, 290,000 travel agencies and airline terminals are connected to the Amadeus System, which is present in more than 210 countries.
