In this first episode, you can watch my interview with Mrs. Noora Haatainen, Business Manager at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre on the topic of ‘The power of exhibitions and trade fairs in tourism’.

Noora is leading the teams responsible for seven different events one of them being the Matka Nordic Travel Fair, which is the largest travel fair in Northern Europe.

It may be gloomy outside this time of year in Helsinki, Finland yet the Matka Nordic Travel Fair is a ray of sunshine and it’s been long awaited for as it is being arranged after a three-year hiatus.

Noora Haatainen covers briefly the history of Matka the Nordic Travel Fair and what makes it unique, why should any company or destination exhibit at Matka Nordic Fair, what are the top benefits for exhibitors and what makes this year’s edition Matka 2023 special.

We live in a society of technological advances, AI and the Metaverse. Are traditional ways of communicating about your product, service and business such as exhibitions and trade shows outdated? We discuss with Noora why trade fairs and exhibitions are more important in tourism now than ever before.

Noora explains how the Matka Nordic Travel Fair co-creates the concept with its partners and how the concept is developed every year based on the feedback received.

Matka is not only for B2B professionals to acquire sales leads, benchmark the competition and develop new partnerships and business relationships, it also increases the company’s or organisation’s brand awareness to the consumers’ and travellers’ mind. Noora discusses what the benefits are for attendees visiting Matka Nordic Travel Fair.

Stay tuned every week on Wednesday to watch interesting topics being analysed by leading experts. If you have insights to share, please reach out to me to press@traveldailynews.com and you could be featured on Travel Insights!
