Traditional hotel accommodation has always been supplemented by private home rentals during past Olympics. In Athens, 2004 however, the shortage of hotel accommodation, coupled with the strong demand of fans from all over the world to attend the games, has placed lodging in private homes at the core of the Athens Games hospitality program.
Filoxenia ’04 S.A. is the joint venture of the two major consortia that were officially appointed by the Athens 2004 Organizing Committee to manage the Private Homes Rental Programme during the Olympic Games period. Led by the real estate divisions of Greece’s largest private banks, and with the participation of leading travel agents and Olympic Games experts, Filoxenia ’04 offers the credibility and security a project of such complexity demands.
Our company has secured a wide range of apartments, houses and villas situated throughout the Greater Athens area to readily meet all Olympic visitors‘ accommodation needs. In order to meet the projected shortfall of accommodation, Filoxenia ’04 will secure a minimum of 3000 private residences, as agreed with ATHENS 2004.
FILOXENIA ‘ 04 offers Olympic Visitors:
A wide range of residences including apartments, maisonettes and villas available throughout Greater Athens area.
Properties in our inventory have been classified in to four categories – C, B, A and Deluxe and are priced according to size, quality and location.
Affordable rates, inclusive of added services and according to the classification of the residence.
Residences are rented as a whole, fully furnished and well equipped.
Flexible arrival and departure dates
Minimum stay of six consecutive nights and additional nights to be booked in blocks of three nights.
Special arrangements for long term stays of one month or more, subject to availability.
Ticket sales for Olympic Sport Events
Residents of the European Union (plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) can request Games tickets from Filoxenia ‘ 04, only once the applicants accommodation has been confirmed. Tickets are sold at face value and are distributed according to the rules of I.O.C. and Athens 2004 Organizing Committee.
Availability within walking distance to the main Olympic sports venues
The Olympic sporting events will take place in clusters of venues; we offer a selection of private homes within a very short distance to the major sites.
