The World Tourism organisation (UNTWO) celebrated the world’s billionth international arrival in December 2012, a world record highlighting the ongoing vitality in tourism.
Global tourism performance is being driven by emerging markets, notably the BRICs. Developed countries are, however, also seeing continued growth in arrivals, benefiting from growing outbound flows from emerging markets.
