More concentrated, more trade-oriented and full of new ideas and services for professional operators: these are the ingredients of the new
The new formula was created, as per our policy, by collecting the opinions
of trade professionals who required an exhibition more efficient and more oriented towards professional operators and informed travellers. Its ability to recreate itself and interpret market changes brought Bit to register a 40% growth in the last four years, and a total presence in 2002 of 135,557 professional operators, travellers and members of the press – declared Adalberto Corsi, President of EXPOcts – The new formula will further optimise the time during the exhibition, save resources for exhibitors and increase the presence of operators.
Starting the exhibition at the weekend means that travel agency personnel will have more time to visit Bit because the agencies are closed. For people in the trade, Bit has always represented a time for professional updating.
And the 2003 edition will have even more training programmes and seminars, conferences and Master Classes that are due to start immediately on Saturday, 15 February.
Beginning on Sunday, Buyitaly is the workshop that will see over 400 foreign buyers and more than 3000 Italian operators taking part. One of the most important events in the Bit 2003 calendar is the second International Tourist System Forum, with speakers of world renown.
Bit 2003 dedicated to Travel Agents
In order to multiply the presence of agents and operators, Bit 2003 has set up a series of services and facilities including: free hospitality during the weekend for over 1000 Travel Agents from the centre and south of Italy, special airfares and entry permits. A new badge system will allow travel agents and tour operators to be easily identified by exhibitors.
This year it will be even easier to prepare a visit to Bit and to organise business appointments during the exhibition. Thanks to the Matching Programme, a new online service, operators, buyers and travel agents will be able to plan their visit and their appointments.
New services for Exhibitors
Time is precious for people at Bit 2003. As well as concentrating the exhibition into four days, services have been created that will help visitors and exhibitors to work better. The Blue Route, for example, is a highway running through Bit that gives easier access to stands. Outside the exhibition, on the other hand, there’s a free bus service connecting up the 70 and more hotels taking part. The service centres inside the exhibition area will help exhibitors to solve administration, technical and secretarial problems on the spot.
Bit: the qualification of the public continues
Bit looks with interest at the personalities of informed travellers. For them the exhibition is a moment for gathering information and making useful contacts for planning their holidays. For several years Bit has implemented a visitor qualification policy with excellent results. With this in mind, visits by schools have been limited exclusively to universities and professional institutes in the sector on Saturday only.
Bit Time Sharing
The qualification of the public visiting the exhibition allows exhibitors to organise activities and meetings with professional operators and travellers more efficiently.
Buyitaly 2003, a completely renewed workshop
The new edition of Buyitaly 2003, which has already been presented to the Italian Regions where it was met with enthusiasm, introduces criteria that increase participation efficiency and profitability thanks to the improved ratio between offer and demand. The workshop provides a better selection of what’s on offer as a function of demand, the targeting of each day, and the support of suitable information technology and websites. In addition, a decision is being taken regarding the possibility of extending Buyitaly from 2 to 3 days from Sunday.
Bit’s positioning
With the aim of strengthening the exhibition’s position in the world scenario of the most important events in the sector, the new Bit 2003 formula optimises time, space, and human and economic resources to the benefit of everyone in the Tourism Industry.
