The New York Travel & Adventure Show Series is now America’s largest with over 21,500 in attendance

New York’s Premier Travel Show produces record attendance and exhibitor numbers, completing the inaugural New York Travel Week.

NEW YORK, NY- The Travel & Adventure Shows hosted their third show in as many weeks at the Javits Convention Center on January 28-29 welcoming more than 21,500, over 350 exhibitors and 850 travel advisors and over 3,000 travel trade and media members. Show attendees engaged with destination representatives, tour operators and travel providers both domestically and from around the globe offering up travel ideas and inspiration. Attendees were even invited to take advantage of special deals and promotions on the spot to stretch their travel dollar and make their dream vacation a reality.

Following the success of this past weekend, upcoming Travel & Adventure Shows have seen a return to pre-COVID pre-event registration numbers for shows in Washington D.C. (February 4-5), Los Angeles (February 18-19), and Denver (February 25-26) and more. The next events promise travelers in these major cities will leave with an abundance of new travel knowledge from hundreds of the top destinations and travel providers from around the world, as well as advice from leading travel experts.

The New York Travel & Adventure Show featured a Croatian National Tourist Board Pavilion, where regional destinations and tour operators from Croatia promoted the most travel experiences while meeting with over 185 pre-qualified Travel Advisors during a networking event prior to the show opening on Saturday. Included in The Travel Trade Day Program were three subsequent panel discussions featuring top Cruise Line, Caribbean, and Florida-based Tourism Board Executives.

The show also included the expanded LGBTQ+ Pavilion, that showcased gay-friendly destinations, tour operators and travel agencies, as well as dedicated programming on the Global Beats Stage. Attendees learned of destinations that have up-and-coming LGBTQ trends and had the opportunity to speak to representatives who can answer questions or address concerns. Also featured at this year’s show was the Passport Acceptance Program, where attendees could register to have their passport applications accepted, expedited, renewed, and even have their passport photos taken, right on the show floor.

“The New York Travel & Adventure Show was a huge success for us. We literally triple what we did in 2019 while meeting the most qualified audience of attendees we have ever seen in New York. The attendance was very impressive, and the event run as always to a high degree of professionalism,” said Michael Consoli, Cruise Planners/Michael Consoli & Associates Agency Owner, “I don’t know what you did for marketing, but each show keeps getting better for us!”

In addition to these new pavilions, show attendees gained valuable advice from industry experts Samantha Brown, Pauline Frommer, Peter Greenberg, Andrew McCarthy, and Patricia Schultz, while participating in dozens of informational and education travel workshops. They also watched cultural performances on the Global Beats Stage and explored the Caribbean Experience where different Caribbean destinations showcased their cultures with culinary experiences and performances.

“The attendance at this show proves that travel is back in the U.S. The abundance of pent-up wanderlust by show attendees, and the success of this show in the Media Capital of the World proves the demand is only increasing,” said John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm, LLC, which produces the Travel & Adventure Shows. “Our Washington D.C. event next weekend is already exceeding pre-pandemic numbers, and Los Angeles is trending in a very similar direction.”

New York Travel & Adventure Show sponsors included Major Sponsor MSC Cruises, Contributing Sponsor Go Touch Down Travel & Tours, Supporting Sponsors Barbados and Croatian National Tourist Board. The LGBTQ Pavilion was sponsored by Presenting Sponsor Visit Lauderdale and Supporting Pavilion Sponsors AIG and Marco Island. The Photo Booth was Sponsored by the Florida Keys & Key West.

Industry travel trade professionals were able to facilitate valuable business with travel media, travel advisors, consumers and influencers during the inaugural “New York Travel Week.” The major components of Travel Week were TravMedia’s International Media Marketplace, the New York Travel & Adventure Show, as well as a variety of specialty events throughout the week.
