Mundo Imperial Entertainment & Hospitality, a prominent entity in Mexico’s entertainment sector, successfully recovers post-Hurricane Otis, with properties reopening and high occupancy rates, and major events hosted, boosting local tourism.

ACAPULCO, MEXICO – Mundo Imperial Entertainment & Hospitality, a leading brand in Mexico’s entertainment and hospitality industry, announces its latest developments and successful recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Otis in September 2023. Mundo Imperial’s destinations continue to set high standards in hospitality, including Riviera Diamante Acapulco with the properties Princess Mundo Imperial, Palacio Mundo Imperial, and Pierre Mundo Imperial, as well as Wayam Mundo Imperial in Mérida.

In February 2024, Pierre Mundo Imperial reopened its doors to resume operations, while Princess Mundo Imperial enabled a partial reopening specially to host the ATP Tour’s Mexican Open for athlete and staff accommodations. In April, Acapulco experienced an extraordinary booking period with hotel occupancy reaching 95 percent. Looking ahead, Mundo Imperial expects all hotels and entertainment centers, including Arena GNP Seguros, to be fully operational by October 25. Princess Mundo Imperial will feature upgraded infrastructure, including modern hydraulic, electrical, and hydro-sanitary systems, and a state-of-the-art treatment plant, making it more sustainable and contemporary.

“In the wake of Hurricane Otis, our team has shown incredible resilience and dedication,” said Seyed Rezvani, Managing Director of Mundo Imperial. “We have not only regained our operational capabilities but also successfully hosted major events such as the Tianguis Turístico Acapulco 2024, the Banking Convention, and the Open Tennis and Open Paddle Tournaments. We look forward to maintaining a dynamic growth strategy that sets the foundation for new projects benefiting Mexico’s tourism industry.”

One of Mundo Imperial’s greatest strengths is its focus on the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Events (MICE) segment. Since February 2024, the company has been actively contributing to meeting tourism, which significantly boosts the local economy and doubles the size of individual  tourism. Recently, the hospitality and entertainment brand hosted the prestigious Tianguis Turístico Acapulco 2024, Mexico’s annual tourism conference. This landmark event, held at Expo Mundo Imperial, brought together over 1,000 buyers and companies from the tourism industry across 43 countries.

In additional news, United Airlines will resume direct flights from Houston to Acapulco, further enhancing accessibility to this vibrant destination.
