The Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort has launched an Ecotourism programme to introduce visitors to the enchanting wildlife of the United Arab Emirates. Participants can choose different routes covering unique natural reserves such as Al Faya Desert, Fossil Rock and the Musandam Mountains.

The programme was developed by Wajahat Iqbal, Recreation Manager of Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort and a certified Environmental Biologist. Says Iqbal: Ecotourism has a great potential in the UAE as it is relatively new, adventurous, educational and fun. Most people know UAE and Dubai for the white sandy beaches and shopping opportunities, but are not aware of the diverse natural wealth of the country.

Specialised Ecotours include Snorkelling, Desert, Mangrove and Dolphin Ecology, as well as Paleobiological Survey. Participants can choose between hiring a 4-wheel drive vehicle and driving. Theoretical and practical classes are conducted to prepare drivers for the challenges of driving on sandy and rocky terrains.
