R. David Salomon has worked in various positions at The Peninsula Bangkok, Raffles in Hamburg, Claridges in London, and Four Seasons Costa Rica.
Almanac Hotels announced the appointment of R. David Salomon as General Manager of Almanac Barcelona, located at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 619-621. The property is comprised of 91 accommodations and has undergone a complete renovation prior to its opening in February 2018. The hotel is steps from Passeig de Gracia, where guests can find shopping, restaurants, bars and museums. The hotel features a distinctive rooftop pool, bar and lounge – Azimuth – and for dining, Linia, a Mediterranean brasserie, offering culinary delights and a sharing menu where locals and traveler’s lives intersect from morning to night.
Having worked for many of the world's greatest luxury brands, Salomon brings a wealth of hospitality experience (21 years) from around the globe to his position as General Manager of Almanac Barcelona. From Thailand to Costa Rica and from Mexico to England his hospitality experience began as a trainee at the Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich. He worked in various positions at The Peninsula Bangkok, Raffles in Hamburg, Claridges in London, and Four Seasons Costa Rica. David served as Rooms Division Manager at the Mandarin Oriental in Munich and then served as a member of the pre-opening team in Barcelona for the group. He later joined the team at The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin and was promoted to Director of Operations. Most recently David served as the General Manager for two hotels at PGA Catalunya Resort, one of the world’s leading luxury real estate developments and fully-serviced lifestyle resorts. His depth and breadth of experience provides a deep understanding of luxury hospitality that can be put to work for Almanac Hotels.
Raised in Munich, Germany, Mr. Salomon has been passionate about this industry from a very early age. He studied at the Hotel and Tourism School, MODUL in Vienna, Austria. David is fluent in German, English and Spanish and now lives in his wife’s hometown of Barcelona with their two children.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
She has many years of both academic and industrial experience within the travel industry. She has written/edited numerous articles in various tourism magazines.
