AT&T on path to triple DIRECTV presence in Best Western hotel rooms

Through the DIRECTV Residential Experience (DRE), guests at participating hotels will have access to a wide array of content, control over what they’re watching, an interactive program guide and select DVR features.

DALLAS – AT&T is working with Best Western Hotels & Resorts to offer exceptional in-room entertainment. All Best Western hotels across the U.S., which includes over 150,000 hotel rooms, will be able to sign-up for DIRECTV.

DIRECTV currently offers service in nearly 50,000 Best Western hotel rooms, and this number is expected to increase with the availability of DIRECTV service across Best Western hotels through agreements with member properties.

Through the DIRECTV Residential Experience (DRE), guests at participating hotels will have access to a wide array of content, control over what they're watching, an interactive program guide and select DVR features. DRE transforms hotel rooms into living rooms with an entertainment experience guests already know and love.

With DIRECTV, hotels get access to nearly 100 HD channels and exclusive sports programs.

"This deal with Best Western Hotels and Resorts tremendously benefits their extensive nationwide footprint of hotels.  And most importantly, it offers guests a premium entertainment experience," said Doug Eichler, vice president, AT&T Commercial DIRECTV Sales. "It's our job to provide hotels and their guests with the best programming options out there."

"DIRECTV was a natural choice as a TV provider for Best Western," said Ron Pohl, Senior Vice President of Brand Management for Best Western Hotels & Resorts. "This partnership offers our guests a familiar experience from an industry leader in entertainment. It is also a tremendous opportunity for our members to connect travelers to their favorite entertainment and information, while benefiting from the lowest total cost of ownership for the digital guest experience."

AT&T has a long-standing relationship with Best Western, connecting call centers and corporate offices with the AT&T Virtual Private Network (VPN) and employees with mobile devices. Best Western guests can also connect to AT&T Wi-Fi, so they can stream content, stay in touch with family and friends and so much more.

Best Western properties can get these services through any of DIRECTV's authorized hospitality dealers, other distribution channels or by visiting DIRECTVforHotels.com.

DIRECTV is the leading TV service for businesses across the country. Nearly 400,000 hotels, bars, restaurants, and stadiums and small businesses use the service.
